Pete got a letter out to the
members when I was looking for a
Tarpon Fishing partner with a
boat. I was able to meet a
couple great guys from the club
and catch a few Tarpon. To date
since putting out the request
for a partner with a boat (I
don't have a boat) we have
boated Twenty-seven
Tarpon. Yes, that's
right 27. They
have ranged from about 80 pounds
to believe it or not 250
pounds. I can't believe it
myself. We have had two doubles
on two days back to back.
Big and very special thanks to
club member, Charlie. What a
trip we had with his nephew.
Sincerely,
Mike Kropp

Got this 36 Inch Snook on 9/12
in lower Addison bay. I used a
white Jig Head with a White Gulp
twister tail. Gave a great
fight, but did not Jump.
Hope you can see the photo, I
used my cell phone camera, so
quality is poor.

June Picnic...by Dave Walsh
Another legend! Imagine a
steak dinner for 2 for only five
bucks! It doesn't get any
better than that! |

I just returned from a 3 week
dive trip to the Solomon
Islands. The dive boat we
went on asked us to bring simple
supplies ie. tee shirts, hats,
books, pencils, paper, fishing
supplies etc. with us since the
native villages are struggling
and were impacted by the recent
tsunami. I mentioned the request
to Seaweed before we left and he
brought to our door boxes of
fishing tackle, shirts, hats,
etc.
I was greatly limited as to what
we could bring due to stringent
weight restrictions on the
various flights but much of the
tackle, hats and shirts were
added to our own donations and
brought to the islands.
I am attaching a couple of
photos of the natives receiving
the gifts, and you can see what
a simple gift means to these
people.
The guy in blue receiving a bag
of Seaweed Tackle from me is
Chief Raymond of the Karamolun
Village.
I just wanted to make sure that
our members know that Seaweed
has a great big heart. Its
too bad we could not bring all
the items with us.
